Bonaire is home to many hiking and biking trails. A national park is available where you can see flamingos. The island also has its water filtering system. This makes the water safe for drinking. 2016 saw the island host 114 healthy nests of turtles. This was their highest nesting season.

It is easy to get to dive sites because the fringing coral runs parallel to the island's leeward shore. The reef is shallow and warm, allowing for visibility to reach up to 80 feet/100 meters.
