The Pros and Cons of Halcyon Weight Pockets

padi certifications

The Halcyon Active Control Ballast System has two ways to position and adjust your weight pockets. You can place the pockets vertically with one option. Each system can hold up to 2,6kg. The system is adjustable to your desired weight, and includes an Active Control Ballast (ACB). It is crucial to choose the right weight pockets for your cycling gear in order to maximize safety and effectiveness.

Trim weight pocket

A Trim weight pocket, a revolutionary new feature in the Halcyon tank mounted weight pockets, is now available. It allows divers up to 10 lb. To increase in-water stability, horizontal trim and reduce gas consumption, the pockets can be attached to their cylinder. They also counterbalance buoyant effects caused by nearly empty cylinders. A weight pocket allows divers to enjoy more bottom time, less effort and maximize their enjoyment when diving.

Active Control Ballast (ACB) integrated system

The ACB is a vertically integrated, releasable weight-system that can hold up to five pounds per pocket. This design makes it easy to place and release. It also doesn't take up too much space on the diver's waist belt. An Explorer Light System can attach to the ACB pockets for increased versatility and safety. Side release buckles protect accidental lead weight loss and provide quick access to weights if needed.

Mounting on a bottle band

The Halcyon new tank-mounted trimweight pockets allow for optimal weight distribution. They also promote comfort and stability during diving. They reduce effort, promote in-water stability and encourage the head-up position. Whether mounted on the tank, the pockets make it easy to balance the weight of your cylinder for optimal in-water stability. These are some of the benefits and disadvantages of tank-mounted weight pocket.

Heads-up surface airway protection

The Halcyon Trim Weight Pocket, a new invention by the manufacturer, is a great innovation. It allows for optimal weight distribution and promotes comfort in the water. The feature helps divers move their weight from the waist to their bladder, improving horizontal trims and propulsion. This feature can increase the enjoyment of diving by extending bottom time. Additionally to moving weight from the waist into the cylinder, Halcyon Trim-Weight Pockets reduce the negative effects of nearly empty cylinders. The pockets also make it easier to maintain the head and maintain horizontal position.

Prices

Halcyon weight pouches are an excellent option for divers looking to improve their diving performance and/or to distribute weight evenly. These pockets can be slipped over the tank's cam bands, and offer a safe place to store additional weight. These pockets can hold between 5lbs and 5kg of ballast, depending on which tank you are using. While the price of Halcyon weight pocket will vary depending on brand, it is well worth it.
