A scuba diving course is required if you want to become a cavern diver. The course includes four scuba divers. The first is an outdoors practice dive. Here you will learn the basics of handling line, reel, avoiding silt, and managing air. Your instructor can also help you plan your dives and manage your orientation. You will be able, upon completion, to dive in caves or other caves that follow safety rules.
Safety rules
The Rule of Threes is the cave diving safety protocol. The cave diver should have three types of light sources and at least two tanks. They should also separate their gas into three distinct sections in order to have enough to last the dive. If the dive team has experience in diving in caves, a more conservative gas management plan will be preferred. Cave divers must practice safe diving practices in order to avoid hazards from caves.
Equipment
Cave diving requires special equipment. Two safety reels should be carried. One should be used for guideline running, while the other should keep the line tension high while the diver is in a cave. For cavern diving, each diver must have a safety rod with enough line for the distance to the cave's entrance. Most manufacturers will wrap the reels with guideline to prevent them from jamming when they make a new reel. You should trim about 10 meters (30 feet) of your line before you use it to avoid jamming.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern divers course. This course is for scuba divers who desire to dive in areas without direct vertical access. This includes overhangs and cavern diving. It is not mandatory to sign up for a cavern dive course. However, the course will provide the necessary skills to make the most of the environment. This course will help you navigate dangerously through the small spaces that are sometimes hidden from your eyes.
Maximum depth
Cavern diving has its limitations. Cavern diving is not recommended for night dives. Cavern diving requires more training than other types. If you're curious about diving in caverns, you'll need to learn the basic cave safety procedures and know your limits. You should also have some cave diving experience before you try it. Once you have this experience, you can start your adventure into the world cavern dive!
