What is the Difference between a Wet Suit & a Dry Suit?

best scuba diving in the world

The most important difference between a suit that is wet and one that is dry is how much water can be allowed to pass through the suit. It is up to you and the activities that you are going to be participating in that will decide if you want a wetsuit or a drysuit. Consider questions such as how much time you'll be in water, how cold the water gets, and your body type.

Gore-Tex dry suits

Fabric is a major difference between GoreTex dry suits versus wetsuits. Non-Gore-Tex dry suits don't breathe as well and don't offer the same level of durability and comfort. New dry suit fabrics have been created, including waterproof andbreathable fabrics. Kokatat designed a dry suit using a Gore-Tex fabric that is durable and yet breathable. Kokatat's suits became the first to go on the market.

Suits from IR

A wetsuit is more durable than a drysuit when it comes to keeping you dry. In addition to keeping you warm, dry suits also prevent water from transferring to the body. Many dry suits have purge valves. Dry suits are a common choice for aircrews.
