A Dive Specialist is a subset that allows divers to gain valuable skills in different areas. Divers with a Specialty learn to make a difference on every dive. This type of diver can be specialized in one area, or in a particular kind of equipment. These specialties include Enriched Air Nitrox, Boat Diving and Deep Scuba. Learn more about these diving specialties below.
Enriched Air Nitrox
PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox), or certified PADI Enriched Air (PADI) Diver, is a great way to learn about the benefits of enriched oxygen. This course is a specialty that includes hands-on practice, independent study and optional two Nitrox dives. The course is designed to be completed online or offline, and you can complete it on your own time, regardless of where you plan on diving. Special oxygen service standards will be required for this specialization.

Underwater Photography
Dive is a wonderful way to learn and improve your photography skills. One of the many diving specialties is underwater photography. This course will cover the principles and techniques involved in underwater photography. Additionally, you will learn about composition and underwater lighting. The proper etiquette of underwater photography will be taught. PADI eLearning will teach you underwater photography and connect with an instructor.
Boat Diving
PADI Boat Diver Specialty Course offers a great way to get started on your diving adventures or if you are looking for a challenge. Learn about the various types of dive boat, proper etiquette, entry/exit procedures, and how you pack your gear for the trip. Additionally, you will learn how to manage emergencies on the water and boat safety.
Deep Scuba
Divers can choose from several Deep Scuba diving Specialties. Advanced Diver certification means that certified divers can dive deeper than the initial dive. Deep Scuba divers need to understand how pressure and breathing affect their bodies and systems as they dive deeper. A safe deep dive should be planned and executed. Some specialties require additional training. But, certification requires a few prerequisites.

Underwater Navigation
Scuba diving requires navigation skills. Scuba divers need to be able to navigate underwater, regardless of whether they are trying to find an object or dive to a beautiful coral reef. Navigation is important to a scuba diver, and learning to use the compass correctly is essential to this skill. You can practice underwater navigation in many ways, including using the compass and natural references.
