Padi Tec 40 Diver Course

scuba divers

The Tec 40 Diver course is designed to introduce you to the necessary skills to handle emergencies while diving. The course includes three training diving sessions, a confined-water dive, knowledge development sessions, and practical applications. After you have completed at least 30 dives including 10 enriched oxygen nitrox dives, you can earn this certification. Upon completion of this course, you'll be eligible to take Padi Tec 40 courses at colleges and universities worldwide.

Tec 40 course

The PADI Tec 40 course expands on the skills of a recreational diver to include more advanced techniques. In this course, students will be introduced to two decompression gases - air and trimix 65 - and learn more advanced tec deep diver skills. Students at Tec 40 can also learn to use back gas and master buoyancy controls. A specialized nitrox theory will be taught to them.

The Tec40 course emphasizes team dive techniques, self-reliance in and communication in the sea. Decompression theory is also taught to students, which makes it easier to plan dives. The course also covers the best practices and equipment configuration for recreational divers.

The PADI Tec40 Course takes about three days. To be eligible for the course, you must have completed at most 30 logged dives. Upon completion of the course, students are eligible to switch gas and use enriched air to dive to 40 meters.

Requirements for taking the Tec 40 course

PADI Tec 40 is a great place start if you're interested in technical diving. It bridges the gap from recreational diving to full technical deep compression diving. It gives you the foundation skills to become a tec diver. You'll be able to dive to 40 meters without stopping and use enriched air or 50% EANX on your decompression dives. A full technical rig will also be available.

The Tec40 course teaches students advanced decompression theory, while also emphasizing team-diving approaches and a self-reliant approach in the water. Tec40 introduces students to advanced nitrox theory including partial-pressures as well as oxygen exposure over multiple dives.

College credit for Tec40 course

The PADI Tec 40 course consists of three days of diving and requires a minimum of 30 logged dives, including 10 enriched air nitrox dives. It teaches the diver to plan a dive and to use oxygen to decompress. It also helps the diver plan and execute extended decompression stops. It's the next step in the diver's training. For those who successfully complete the course, college credit is possible.
