It is an exciting and rewarding experience to become a certified scuba diver. It doesn't matter if you want to become a PADI Open Water Diver or another certification, it is important to understand what to expect and how long the process takes. Here's a quick overview of certification, including costs, speciality courses and whether they can be done online.

PADI Open Water Diver certificate

Before you can apply and become a PADI Open Water Diver certified, you must first learn how to dive. You will gain confidence and be able to learn new skills. During the course, you'll practice these skills under the guidance of a PADI Instructor.

PADI Open Water Diver has many benefits. PADI Open Water Divers will teach you how to scuba diver and allow you to interact with the aquatic world. There will be 4 open water diving experiences during the course. These dives may be done in the ocean, lake or sea.

Required courses in specialty subjects

If you have always wanted to dive into the ocean but have always been unsure of the specialties available, you can start your scuba certification process with the right course. PADI's scuba training courses prepare you to dive. You will be taught about marine biology, underwater navigation and basic scuba equipment. You will also learn about communication skills and how to use underwater lights.

PADI Underwater Naturalist Specialty Course (for those who love exploring the underwater world) is a great choice. This course teaches divers how species and groups are identified, as well as how they relate to each other. It counts towards your Master Scuba Diver certification and is recommended to those who have a passion for aquatic life.

Cost of scuba certification

Costs for getting certified as a scuba diver vary depending on what training program you choose and how many dives you do. The average course takes 4 days and costs about $500, but it can be less. Although the cost of training is variable, most programs are reasonably priced and offer multiple-day courses.

Personal gear is a large part of the cost to get certified. These items include a snorkel, fitted mask, wetsuit boots, and two pairs of scuba dive fins. High-quality gear must be comfortable and lasts for many dives. A top-of-the-line diving computer will also cost several hundred dollars.

Online scuba certification

You can obtain a certification online if you don't have time to travel internationally and are looking for scuba diving certification. You will reap many benefits from completing an online course. First of all, you will spend less time in a classroom. You will also have the flexibility to study at your own pace. You can continue your online training course by taking a practical course if you wish after you have completed it.

PADI courses are available online for $129. This includes accessing your course materials, knowledge development training and course materials. You can also get the SSI certification online for much less if you don't want to purchase course materials.
