A scuba diving course is required if you want to become a cavern diver. This course includes four scuba diver dives. Your instructor can also help you plan your dives and manage your orientation. After the course you will be certified to dive in caves and other caves following safety rules.
Safety
Cave diving safety protocols follow the Rule of Threes. A cave diver must have three sources of light and at least two tanks, one of which should be independent or multi-mounted. To ensure they are able to survive the dive, they should separate their gas into three sections. A more conservative gas management plan is preferable if the dive team is experienced and has a history of diving in caves. Cave divers need to be aware of cave hazards and practice safe diving techniques.
Equipment
Cave diving requires specialized equipment. Two safety reels should be carried. One should be used as a guideline reel, and the other should be used during the dive. When preparing for a cavern dive, make sure that each diver has a safety reel with sufficient line to reach the cave's entrance and the farthest permanent line. When purchasing a new reel, most manufacturers will pack the spools to the edge with guideline, which makes them more prone to jam. To avoid jamming, remove approximately 10 meters (30ft), of line prior to use.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern diving course for scuba divers who want to dive in areas that do not allow direct vertical access. This includes dives into caverns, and overhangs. It is not mandatory to sign up for a cavern dive course. However, the course will provide the necessary skills to make the most of the environment. This course will teach you how to navigate the narrow spaces often hidden from your view.

Maximum depth
Cavern diving has its limitations. Cavern diving is not recommended for night dives. Cavern diving requires advanced training, which is not the case for other types. Cavern diving is a great option for those who are curious. You should be familiar with basic cave safety procedures, and you need to know your limits. Before you dive in caves, you should have experience with it. Once you have this experience, you can start your adventure into the world cavern dive!
